Paintings

What medium are your original paintings?
I work oil paint and in water based mediums; acrylic paint, inks and pencils. Further details will usually be listed alongside each piece.

Are your paintings framed?
It varies. Most work on canvas is sold unframed; many people prefer this more contemporary look and it means it can be shipped without costing you more..

Paintings on cradled wood usually have a handprinted wooden frame. Details will be with each work. Please contact me if you would like bespoke advice or have any further questions – framing can be an art in itself!

Will my painting be ready to hang?
Yes, all paintings will come with picture wire already fixed and ready to hang. You just need to decide where!

Purchasing with a deposit
Some original paintings valued over £500 have been set up to allow you to purchase in stages. You can pay a 50% deposit and then pay the balance in 2 monthly payments of 25% each. Options will be emailed to you. By purchasing you understand that this is a deposit to secure your artwork and you will be required to pay the remaining balance. As soon as the final payment is made, your work will be shipped to you.

This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.

How will my painting be wrapped?
It depends on size, but paintings will be carefully packed using corner protection, bubble wrap and cardboard. Each one is unique so I take care that is well protected to arrive in perfect condition. For further details about delivery please see the Shipping details

Prints

What is a print?
An edition is a high quality reproduction of an original artwork, the print is so fine you can’t see the printed dots with the naked eye. All prints are signed by me on the front.

How are the prints made?
A high resolution photograph of the original work is taken and carefully colour adjusted to ensure the optimum colour match. The prints are giclee prints made at a specialist printer using archival quality inks on a 100% cotton rag acid free paper.

Do you make prints of all your paintings?
No, most are available as originals only. Certain paintings which I feel would work particularly well as reproductions are selected to be available as prints.

 

Can I order n prints at a different size?
 Prints are currently available in A4 and A3 size. Once you have added a mount and a frame the final dimensions will be larger.

Will my print be framed?
Because of the difficulty of shipping glass I don’t usually sell framed work. If you are happy to collect from my studio in Surrey I can arrange framing for you. Please email me at colette@colettecleggart.com or add a message to your order. You could also look at eframe for ordering mounts and frames online.

How will my print be wrapped?
Prints are usually packed flat.

PURCHASING & SHIPPING

Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. The image you see online may show a difference due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and slight inconsistencies will not be a valid reason for return.

Ordering

How is my payment handled?
Payments are taken through Stripe in British Pounds Sterling. We do not store any of your debit/credit card details.

Purchasing with a deposit
If you would like to purchase an original painting over £500 you are welcome to purchase in stages. As the value of my work grows I understand this can be a helpful option. A 50% deposit is payable to hold your painting . The balance can be paid the following month or in 2 monthly payments of 25% each. Please contact me if you are interested in arranging this.

Paying by bank transfer
There is a checkout option to pay by bank transfer which many UK customers prefer. This saves me credit card fees. If you select this option you will be emailed with details of how to pay. Please pay immediately as the artwork is marked as sold immediately and unavailable to others.

Shipping

I have placed my order, how soon will I receive my painting?
Original paintings will be packed and shipped within 5 working days. Within the UK pieces are sent by Royal Mail, Parcel Force or courier depending on size and weight.  Most UK deliveries arrive within 2 days from time of shipping. Please allow 7 working days in total. If you need delivery by a specific date, please contact me first to make sure it can reach you in time. There may be an extra charge for rush deliveries according to your requirements.

I have placed my order, how soon will I receive my print?
All prints are made to order and orders are sent once a week to the printer, then to be signed and sent to you. Within the UK pieces are sent by Royal Mail, Parcel Force or courier depending on size and weight.  Most UK deliveries arrive within 2 days from time of shipping. Please allow 10 working days in total.

Can I collect my artwork from your studio?
Yes, if you have a London postcode starting in W or SW this option should come up as a choice when you checkout. If you are further afield but would like to collect in person you can enter code COLLECT at the checkout. Once you have placed your order I will email you and we can work out a time to meet. My home is in Surrey.

Is Shipping included?
Yes, most artwork has an estimated shipping cost included at checkout based on the size of the work and your location.
Note: At the current time shipping costs are varying significantly due to Covid-19 restrictions, especially on air freight. If the actual cost of shipping is significantly more than quoted I reserve the right to discuss this with you and to refuse the sale.

What about large or high value artworks?
I appreciate this is a high value purchase. It is important for both of us to make sure it is transported safely. Some couriers have limits on dimensions or what they will carry so certain pieces have individual requirements. This will be noted in the Shipping details with each product listing. Shipping costs for large artworks need to be quoted individually – please contact me before purchasing. I will then contact you via email to discuss specialist shipping options before the artwork is despatched. If you buy online first in order to secure the painting the shipping cost will be billed separately after agreement.

Can you ship internationally?
Yes, I can ship to most countries, although it will take longer to arrive depending on your location. If your location is restricted once you get to the checkout you need a bespoke courier service. Message me with your details and the piece you would like and I can give you shipping options.

Overseas shipments (outside the UK) may be subject to import duties and taxes according to the laws of the destination country. Any additional charges are at the customer’s expense. We have no control over these charges and accept no responsibility for additional charges.

Shipping costs contribute towards packing supplies, labour and transit fees. 

Returns

What if my painting arrives and I don’t like it?
I want you to be fully happy with your new artwork so I offer a Buy-Back agreement.

If a painting is not as you expect, you have 14 days to contact me by email and request a refund. Once a return has been agreed, you are responsible for packing and arranging return delivery using the same service it was sent to you in the original packaging. Once the piece has been safely returned I will refund your payment within 14 days.

What if my painting arrives damaged?
All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days and if possible keep a photograph.

What about Overseas Returns?
At this time I am unable to offer a refund or return on any product(s) sent outside of the UK.

1 Agreement to Terms

1.1 These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement made between you and Colette Clegg Art (sole trader), located at Blackmoor Farm, Ockham Lane, Cobham, Surrey KT11 1LZ. United Kingdom (we, us), concerning your access to and use of the Colette Clegg Art website (http://www.colettecleggart.com) as well as any related applications (the Site).

1.2 The Site provides the following: Online portfolio to show artwork and purchase of original art and prints from us. You agree that by accessing the Site, you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 You may not access or use the Site for any purpose other than that for which we make the site and our services available. The Site may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavours except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by us.

1.4 We reserve the right to modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you; you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the website.

1.5 We reserve the right to change these conditions from time to time; your continued use of the website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check to determine whether the conditions have been changed.

2 Acceptable Use

2.1 All copyright is retained by the artist, Colette Clegg. Images must not be resold or reproduced without the artist’s written permission.

2.2 No part of the Site, Services or Our Content may be copied, reproduced, aggregated, republished, uploaded, posted, publicly displayed, encoded, translated, transmitted, distributed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose whatsoever, without our express prior written permission.

3 Content

3.1 The content on the Site is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You should obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from taking, any action on the basis of the content on the Site.

3.2 Provided that you are eligible to use the Site, you are granted a limited licence to access and use the Site and Our Content and to download or print a copy of any portion of the Content to which you have properly gained access solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

3.3 Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. 3.4 There may be opportunities for you to post content to the Site or send feedback to us (User Content). You understand and agree that your User Content may be viewed by other users on the Site, and that they may be able to see who has posted that User Content.

4 Links to third party content

4.1 The Site may contain links to websites or applications operated by third parties. We do not have any influence or control over any such third party websites or applications or the third party operator. We are not responsible for any third party websites or applications or their availability or content.

4.2 We accept no responsibility for adverts or links contained within the Site. If you agree to purchase goods and/or services from any third party who advertises in the Site, you do so at your own risk. 

4.3 The Site may contain affiliate links which will grant us a commission if you purchase from those sites.

5 Sales

5.1 Artwork listed may be withdrawn from sale at any point by the artist for reasons such as, but not limited to, sale elsewhere or withheld for exhibition display.

5.2 If you purchase physical goods from the Site, our terms and conditions of supply https://colettecleggart.com/purchasing-shipping/ will apply to the sales.

6 Security of Data

6.1 We will take all reasonable care, in do far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure. We use a secure external payment process. In the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when ordering from the website.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider (Stripe) and are not stored or processed on our servers.

How long do we keep your information
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically. Customer purchase records are kept for a minimum of 6 years to comply with legal requirements.

What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
